EIS Pam Williams

Pam Williams is the Elementary Instructional Supervisor for the Carroll County school system.  As such her duties include: DAC, Title 1, ESS, Head Start/ Preschool, PD, Textbooks, and Title II teacher quality.  She is very excited about this new opportunity to work with the professional learning community that has been established in Carroll County Schools.

Experience:

She began teaching reading in 1981, with the Title I program in grades K-8, after completing a bachelors degree in elementary education, at the University of Kentucky.  She earned a masters and rank I in elementary education from Eastern Kentucky University and the University of Louisville.  After working for the Kentucky Department of Education, as a consultant for primary schools, she continued course work at EKU, to earn a certification in Instructional Leadership.

During the past five years she has worked as the coordinator of the Head Start / KERA preschool program for Carroll County.  She has served on several committees to support the efforts of early learning that included: The governors early childhood initiative planning committee, the Regional Early Childhood Advisory Board, the KY Head Start Association, and the Carroll County Early Childhood Committee.  Through her work with these programs  and the observations of a dedicated Head Start staff she became very passionate about providing preschool children with developmentally appropriate opportunities to learn, in a caring environment.

Personal:

Mrs. Williams has been married to Roger Williams for 25 years and they have two sons. The boys, Jarrod and Paul, graduated from the Carroll County school system and are currently attending college.  Jarrod is entering his first year at the University of KY pharmacy school and Paul is attending Georgetown College, where he is pursuing a degree in communications.

Mrs. Williams looks forward to a challenging year of working and learning together with the staff of Carroll County Schools.  She believes along with Joe Nathan, “All children deserve teachers who believe they can learn and who will not be satisfied until they do.”  The challenge will be creating a community of learning where all parents, staff, and community members demonstrate the accountability to be “champions for kids”!
