Schools must have one full year of data and have an Energy Star Score of 75 for an award.
District Energy News:
In February 2011, the Carroll County School district signed a pledge to become an Energy Star Partner.
On November 8, 2012 Cartmell Elementary School recieved an Energy Star Award from the Environmental Protection Agency / Department of Energy. A certificate from Governor Steve Breshear and the Energy Star will be displayed in the school lobby. Congratulations to the school.

Our objective is to be good stewards of the resources (energy, water, dollars) given us. We will seek a working balance between personal comfort and resource consumption knowing that our primary focus is to optimize student learning.

School Energy Contest --
Schools are eligible for a cash payout based on a year to year reduction of energy. All schools which have a 5% or greater reduction will get a minimum payout of $500. The school with the greatest reduction over 5% will get a payout of $1000.
Results are published monthly.
