Class of 1998.

Bio: After graduating with a doctoral degree in physical therapy from the University of Kentucky, Julie moved to Denver, Colorado, to be closer to her future husband, Jared. They have two children: Poppy and Rory. Julie works as a physical therapist for the University of Colorado in outpatient orthopedics.

Influence of Carroll County Schools: Julie feels lucky to have grown up in a small school in a small town. As a student, she was able to dabble in anything that interested her, which is not always possible in larger districts. Participating in several different sports, the band, and every club she could sign up for helped develop her time-management skills, leadership, and responsibility. She felt that the class of 1998 was very competitive, which meant that she had many brilliant classmates to push her to excel. Julie is thankful to her teachers, who helped foster her love for learning, who taught with enthusiasm, and who took a personal interest in each student.

We in the Carroll County School District are proud of our alumni, which is why we launched a project to highlight distinguished graduates of our school district. Distinguished alumni have a framed poster on the walls of each school to inspire current students to do great things with their lives.
