Osborne takes leave — Ray steps up to superintendent designee

Carrollton, Ky. — April 1, 2022 — Thursday, March 31, was Superintendent Danny Osborne’s last day in the Carroll County School District. Assistant Superintendent Jonica Ray is filling in as superintendent designee until the Carroll County Board of Education selects a replacement and until that replacement begins his or her duties.

“As many of you may know, I have been struggling with health issues for some time now,” Osborne said in an email to staff. “After announcing my retirement this past December, I planned on finishing out the school year. Unfortunately, my plans need to change, and I will be taking medical leave effective immediately. […] I have all of the confidence in the world in Ms. Ray, and I know that the district is in good hands.”

The Board of Education is in the process of selecting a new superintendent. The selection process should be complete before the end of the current school year.
