Walker Joins District as Director of Special Education


Mr. Matt Walker has been named the new Director of Special Education on August 1, 2022. “We welcome Matt Walker to Carroll County Schools. We believe that during the recruitment, research and interview process that Mr. Walker will be a great asset to the faculty, staff and most importantly the students of Carroll County.” says Casey Jaynes, Superintendent of Carroll County Schools. “His background knowledge and experience in special education brings a great overall perspective to our school district team.” 

Mr. Walker comes to Carroll County as a former assistant principal, district level Special Education Specialist, and District level Admissions and Release Committee Supervisor and coordinator and school special education teacher specializing in collaborative classroom practices and strategies. He holds a Master of Arts degree in Leadership and Administration from University of the Cumberlands, a Master of Arts in Special Education Learning and Behavior Disabilities from Western Kentucky University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Marketing from Western Kentucky University. 

Mr. Walker stated, “I am thrilled to be joining Carroll County Schools as the Director of Special Education. After talking with Mr. Jaynes about his vision for the district, I knew Carroll County Schools was a special place and where I wanted to be. My goal is to provide our students with instructional programming to meet their individual needs and provide our teachers with the continuous training and support needed to maximize efficacy in their classrooms.”
