Carroll County School District– Cartmell Elementary School has been recognized by school and state officials for achieving the ENERGY STAR® from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) ENERGY STAR® rating system for superior energy efficiency.
“We have taken seriously the need to manage ALL of our resources wisely,” said Ms. Lisa James, Superintendent. “Managing our energy resources is not only the right thing to do; it has also saved our district over $60,000 in the last two years. We are proud to be recognized among the state’s and nation’s most energy efficient schools. Buildings that receive the Energy Star use 35% less energy and generate 35% fewer greenhouse gases than similar buildings across the nation.”
