The Carroll County Schools Food Service
is dedicated in serving
well-balanced nutritional meals that meet United States Department
of Agriculture and Kentucky mandated requirements.
The Food Service Department participates in the following programs:
National School Lunch Program - was brought about in 1946 as a "measure of National Security to safeguard the health and well-being
of the nation's children."
School Breakfast Program - was created as a part of the Children Nutrition Act of 1966
Summer Feeding Program - operates during the months of June
and July.
After School Program - offered at three of the schools.
The Carroll County Child Nutrition program operates as a business within the school district. It receives no income from the school district to operate. The program operates solely from the revenues from meals served and federal funds from the National School Lunch Program.
Food Services is headed by Director Patti Burgess and Assistant Director Dorothy Perry, whose office is located in the rear of Cartmell Elementary, facing the High School.
