District approved for NTI days

Carrollton, Ky. — Nov. 7, 2019 — We are pleased to announce that Carroll County Schools has been granted state permission to offer “Non-Traditional Instruction” (NTI) days during the 2019-2020 school year. This plan will allow learning to take place at home when conditions prevent schools from being in session. An NTI day will count as an instructional day and will not have to be made up at the end of the school year. 

 

Gividen elected to KYASRO board Sgt. Gividen

Carrollton, Ky. — Oct. 29, 2019 — Sergeant Tim Gividen of the Carrollton Police Department has been elected to the board of directors for the Kentucky Association of School Resource Officers.

Gividen will represent Region 4, which is comprised of the following counties:

District launches MyBusBuddie Parent Portal

We are excited to announce a new online parent portal that allows you to track the location of your child’s bus.

The MyBusBuddie parent portal will allow you to estimate pickup and drop off times. We are always looking for ways to better serve you. Safety is the district’s first priority, and safety is a team effort. The MyBusBuddie parent portal is our effort to improve collaboration between the school and the home. District reviews data from 2018-2019, first year of new accountability system

Carrollton, Ky. — October 2, 2019 — The Kentucky Department of Education has released testing accountability scores for schools across Kentucky for the 2018-2019 school year. Under this new accountability testing system, each school receives a star rating between one and five stars. Cartmell Elementary — and Kathryn Winn Primary as Cartmell Elementary’s feeder school — earned one star. Carroll County Middle School earned two stars. Carroll County High School earned two stars.

 

“We are very appreciative of the data from student assessment,” said Superintendent Danny Osborne. “We will analyze this data and use that information to better meet the needs of all our students. While the data does tell a story, it does not always tell the whole story. Our focus has and will continue to be on being the catalyst of change for every student, preparing them for a hopeful and productive life, which includes building character, work ethic, and other qualities that do not always show up in the assessment data.”
