The Carroll County High School Class of 2025 participated in commencement ceremonies on Saturday afternoon with a packed house of friends, family and teachers watching.
The students and staff entered the gymnasium to the traditional “Pomp and Circumstance” played by the CCHS band. Student body president Brenna Mefford, Valedictorian Carson Lipe and Salutatorian Jackson Marsh all addressed the crowd and their fellow students.
Those graduating with honors were recognized by CCHS Principal Amy Sutter before Assistant Principal Crystal Harris presented the class for graduation.
“As I look out here, I am filled with immense pride,” Sutter said to the students. “Today we celebrate a milestone, not just in your education, but in your growth, your character and all the possibilities that exist.”
She praised them for working hard and overcoming adversity throughout their years at CCHS.
“Today is the beginning of your future and, unlike my jokes, it actually does get better from here,” she said, garnering a laugh from the crowd.
Sutter emphasized the importance of holding true to the CCHS values of respect, responsibility and resilience. “The world needs people like you. People who are ready to act with integrity,” she said. “To the class of 2025, you are now set to greet the world.”
