Carroll County High School seniors J.T. Davis and Skyler Robbins are preparing to step into the spotlight as this year’s Panther ambassadors at the annual Swiss Wine Festival in Vevay, Indiana this Saturday.

The festival, which runs from Aug. 21-24, features students from several area high schools. Each pair rides in the parade in a vehicle or float they decorate, then they participate in an interview with judges and answer an on-stage question or tell what a selected quotation means to them.

Both J.T. and Skyler said they are nervous, but excited, about being chosen. Each has been to the Swiss Wine Festival parade and participated with prior ambassadors. They plan to decorate with the Panther black and gold.

Skyler is a three-year member of the CCHS cheerleading squad, joined FFA in seventh grade and is now the chapter’s secretary, is a member of the junior fair board, attends Southeast Christian Church in LaGrange and works as a co-op at NAS in accounts payable.

J.T. balances a full college course load at JCTC while still shining on the soccer field, where he plays a crucial role as a varsity center midfielder for the Panthers.

They are encouraging other Panthers to don their Panther gear and join them in walking the parade on Saturday. The CCHS band will also be marching in the parade. The event begins at 10 a.m. Anyone interested in joining these Panthers in the parade should be at 507 Vineyard Street, Vevay, by 9 a.m. Saturday.
