The 8th Region soccer finals concluded today at Panther Field. During an end-of-game ceremony, Panthers Horacio Magdaleno and Jocelinne Rodriguez were named to the regional all-tournament team.
Woodford County won the boys’ tournament while South Oldham won the girls’ tournament.
Other all-tournament team members include:
Girls: Ally Rogers, Collins; Taylor Corum, Henry Co.; Ava Klaus, Spencer Co.; Madie Alford and Caroline Zimlich, Oldham Co.; Ashton Cook and Brynna Willis, Walton-Verona; Reese Johnson, Macie Bach and Meg Gadzala, Simon Kenton; Adison Welsh, Maggie Murphy and Evie Lilly, South Oldham. The tournament MVP was Abigail Hammods.
Boys: Drake Schlueter, Grant Co.; Colby Stivers, Henry Co.; Jagger Waters, Simon Kenton; Grayson Roederer and James White, North Oldham; Bryson Burke and Nouh Benaly, South Oldham; Rodrigo Domingez, Jack Lingo and Denilson Moguel, Collins; Buckley Greathouse, Leland Newell and Ian Sergent, Woodford Co. The tournament MVP was Silas Damm.

October is Farm to School month and this is National School Lunch Week. Carroll County Schools Food Services works diligently to utilize locally sourced products when making it menus. The district is serving meatloaf, chili, tacos, baked spaghetti and beef sliders in all four schools, made with local beef, during October. Their traditionally popular foods, such as handmade pizzas, are also served regularly. Thank you to our food services staff for your hard work!

The CCHS boys' and girls' soccer teams have secured the first seed in the 31st District tournament. The Lady Panthers will play at 6 p.m. on Oct. 8 in Owen County and the Panthers will play at 6 p.m. on Oct. 10 in Owen County. Congratulations to our soccer teams!

Carroll County girls' and boys' soccer celebrated senior night last night in a match against Henry County. The girls won 3-0 while the boys lost 5-4 after double overtime and a shoot-out. The senior girls are Kelby Maiden, Lexi Moore, Macie Miller, Alyssa Horner, Yarley Gonzales Salas, Lili Short and Gaby Nava Cruz. October is National Principal Appreciation Month. We would like to thank and recognize all of our principals for their dedication and commitment to their students. They each work hard to improve our schools and help our students succeed. Thank you to our principals!


Scott's Miracle Gro is collecting a tractor-trailer of supplies for Hurricane Helene victims in North Carolina and Tennessee. The items on this flyer are being accepted through October 9.

The Cross Country meet to be hosted at Carroll County tomorrow has been cancelled.
