The nursing staff at CCMS and CCHS arranged to have staff from the Three Rivers Health Department come to the schools to administer vaccinations recently. This is one of the many services offered by our health services department to help increase compliance with required health documentation. Thanks to the ongoing efforts of the nursing staff at Carroll County Schools and the help of our health department, our immunization compliances increased to 96.4% at CCMS and 72.6% at CCHS. Carroll County Board of Education member Rob Spenneberg was recognized during his final board meeting for his contributions and dedication to Carroll County Schools during his tenure on the board.
Spenneberg began his service on the board of education in September 2012 when he was appointed to serve out the remainder of a prior member’s term. He was elected to the board and continued to serve through December 2024.
He has championed Carroll County Schools throughout his time on the board. He has worked with three superintendents and one interim superintendent. He was vice chairperson for three years and served as board chairperson for two years.
The accomplishments during his tenure are many. Too many to list, actually.
Some of the highlights include renovations or additions at the middle school, Head Start, Kathryn Winn and the high school. He was instrumental in technological improvements throughout the district, installation of a turf football/soccer field at the high school, JCTC Dual Credit agreements in 2013 which lead to the partnerships we have now, mental health initiatives for staff and students, training opportunities for staff members and supported the development of consistent curriculum throughout the district.
“Mr. Spenneberg’s contributions to Carroll County Schools are impactful and will be felt for many years in our student body and our staff members, said Carroll County Schools Superintendent Casey Jaynes. “Thank you Rob for your dedication and efforts to improve Carroll County Schools.”

Eighth graders in Sherry Lawson’s careers class presented their capstone project to judges this week. The CCMS students researched a career in which they were interested then created a display board with their research. Each gave an oral presentation to the judges and answered questions about their chosen career. The students were scored on the display and the presentation of the career information.

If your student stays after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays for tutoring/extended day services until 4:15, please begin picking your student up in the large bus loop by the gym starting THIS THURSDAY at 4:15. Picking up in the large bus loop will reduce traffic congestion concerns for you. Thank you!

The high school jazz ensemble and symphonic band directed by Eric Allen as well as the 7th and 8th grade bands directed by Elliott Hawks entertained a large crowd at their Winter Concert last night. (More photos on the District Facebook page.)

During the holidays, many parents enjoy coming to school to enjoy lunch with their child. The district welcomes parents and guardians into our schools, but we are unable to serve them lunch. Our food services staff only prepares enough food for our students and staff, so it is not prepared to serve additional adult meals. A shortage of food services staff also makes it difficult to serve additional meals. We welcome you to join your child during their lunch period, but please understand lunch will not be available for purchase by adults.

Carroll County Middle School's drama club will present "Spooky Christmas" on Friday, Dec. 13. A talent show will begin at 6 p.m. in the auditorium with the play to follow. Admission is $5 for adults and $2 for anyone 17 or younger.
