Carroll County Schools has released its list of designated bus stops. According to Transportation Director Dianna Dunn, a few stops have been added this year after monitoring the routes during the last school year.
Dunn asked parents to be patient with bus drivers during the first couple of weeks, as it might take a little longer to get children home. It will take time for children to get used to their bus locations and how the process works.

A change in Kentucky state law now mandates students who have 15 or more unexcused absences be reported to the Carroll County Attorneyās Office for truancy. This change is part of ongoing efforts to emphasize the importance of regular school attendance and to provide additional support to families to help prevent chronic absenteeism, according to the Kentucky Directors of Pupil Personnel.
Mark Willhoite, the Carroll County Schools Director of Pupil Personnel, said excused absences are unavoidable and encouraged families to familiarize themselves with the absence policies. āOur primary goal remains to collaborate with families to support studentsā educational journeys and to address any barriers to consistent school attendance,ā the DPP organization said in a press release.
Regular school attendance is crucial for academic success and families are urged to plan accordingly to ensure their children attend school consistently. Willhoite noted this information is being announced before school starts so there will be no confusion as the year progresses.
āWe are here to support you and your child in achieving educational success,ā he said. Please contact Willhoiteās office at 732-7070 with questions.
