Carroll County Middle School students began using a new diagnostic tool in their match classes today.
The i-Ready Math Diagnostic is an adaptive assessment that adjusts its questions to suit a student's needs. Each item a student sees is individualized based on their answer to the previous question.
For example, a series of correct answers will result in slightly harder questions, while a series of incorrect answers will yield slightly easier questions.
The purpose of this is not to give students a score or grade, but instead to determine how best to support the studentās learning. The diagnostic is given on the student's computer.
Here is an info site for families: https://i-readycentral.com/familycenter/

Third grade teachers Cassandra Southworth and Shelby Evans were a little mismatched today in honor of their class reading Marisal McDonald Doesn't Match. The students made predictions about the story and discussed it as a class. More photos will be on the district Facebook page.

It is with great sadness that Carroll County Schools informs our community that Carroll County High School lost one of its students suddenly this weekend.
The young man would have started his junior year of high school on Wednesday. He was a member of the CCHS Panthers football team, an officer in FFA and a CCHS cheerleader. He was also a student at the Carroll County Area Technology Center.
āIt is difficult to process and cope with the loss of such a young, vital life,ā said Carroll County Schools Superintendent Casey Jaynes. āOur heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with this young manās family.ā
Carroll County High School campus and football field will be open to students Monday, Aug. 14, beginning at noon. CCHS Principal Amy Sutter said she wanted students to know they have a āsafe space to gather, grieve or just be.ā Adults will be available for the students.
The investigation into his death is ongoing and no other information is available at this time.
